RULE NO:  Various – Constitution, Series Articles and Technical Regs

GENERAL BUSINESS

NZ Champs – The North Island round will be ‘Thunder in the Park’ at Pukekohe in December 2011.  The South Island round will need to be confirmed with the South Island Club.

It was suggested that we look at implementing a NZ Champs for the P7P cars.  There were 4-5 P7P drivers present who would consider going to the South Island this coming season.

It was suggested the club could subsidise/assist with travel costs for those going to the south island round. Another option was to offer Prize-money or try to secure a sponsor just for the NZ Champs.  Committee to consider the best option.

Promotion – Magazines – Warren suggested a new magazine “Juice” would be keen to do a regular article.  Most magazines will publish an article if it is presented with photos.  This could include Sponsor exposure.  We need to promote the clubs membership – there may be a perception that Pro7 is a ‘bunch of young rotary hoons’.  Also push the ‘driver development’ possibilities within the class – we have had many young drivers go on to Tier One. Another misperception is the cost.  We need to advertise the low running costs of Pro7 Racing.

Pro7 Bat – TRB have gone through the draft rules and made a few minor amendments.  There is clearly sufficient support for the class.  A discussion was held on the best place for the class this season.  It was decided that they would join the P7P class with bulletins to cover the difference in Tech Regs. To begin with, they will start off the back of the P7P field and would be eligible for points.  This would be re-accessed at each meeting by the Series Coordinator.

Life Member – Terry Carkeek , on behalf of the Committee, announced that Life Membership has been bestowed on Stu Hewer for all his hard work and many years of support for Pro7.
